Bring Azeroth Home: World of Warcraft Coaster DIY
In this coaster DIY project I used five maps from World of Warcraft: Kalimdor, Eastern Kingdoms, Outlands, Northrend and Pandaria. You can choose any artwork or maps you would like for your coasters. It is so fun and easy to create these Azeroth Map Coasters. Inspired by World of Warcraft, this craft combines my favorite video game with a useful household item.

World of Warcraft Coaster DIY
MATERIALS YOU WILL NEED
five tiles from the hardware store
five World of Warcraft maps printed to fit your tiles
scissors
Mod Podge
A glue gun and glue sticks
felt or furniture floor protectors
STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS
Start with five tiles. I got mine at my local home improvement store. I purchased 5.5 inch mottled Tuscan brown tiles for 89¢ apiece. You can buy tile in any size and color you want for this project. White, glossy 4 inch tiles run about 16¢ each.
Next, Google for images of the five maps in World of Warcraft: Kalimdor, Eastern Kingdoms, Outlands, Northrend and Pandaria. Size the images to be a little bit smaller than your tile and print them out on regular paper. (If your maps or images are rectangular, you will need to cut off some of the image on the left and right to make them square.)
Trim out the maps, round the corners, and cut some texture into the edges of each one.
You can use any kind of decoupage sealer for the next step. I recommend Mod Podge hard coat to glue the maps to the tile. Apply a layer of Mod Podge to each tile and smooth each map down well. The paper will wrinkle up slightly when it gets wet. Make sure to smooth all the air bubbles out from the center to the edges.
Once all the maps are applied, let the project dry for 15 to 30 minutes.
Then, apply a thick coat to seal the top. Make sure you cover all the edges.
Let the project dry completely.
Once the top coat is completely dry, it is time to add felt to the bottom of each tile to protect your table from getting scratched. Trim five pieces of felt to match the tiles and use a glue gun to attach them firmly to the bottom of each coaster.
An alternate method is to buy the felt pads that protect your floor from furniture. Use felt circles with adhesive back. Just peel and stick the circles to the back of your coasters.
Once your coasters are complete, store them somewhere for a full 28 days to allow the Mod Podge to cure. Once cured, your coasters will be able to withstand heat, cold and moisture without getting ruined.
