DIY Batman Slime Recipe
MATERIALS YOU WILL NEED
To make the Batman custom jar you will need
A batman figure
12 ounce glass jars
black acrylic paint
or you could also use a dark navy blue
yellow acrylic paint
a paint brush
glue gun and glue sticks
For each batch of slime you will need
a 5 oz bottle of clear glue
liquid starch
a 1/3 cup measuring cup, water and a bowl and a stir stick
To decorate the slime you will need
yellow food coloring
yellow glitter
a piece of black plastic like a take out or food tray
and a bat shaped paper punch
STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS
Decorate the jar. (If you just want to make the slime, you can skip over this first par.)
Start with a black lid. If you’re using a jar with another color lid or reusing a jar that had a food product in it, paint the lid solid black or navy blue. If there is writing on the lid, it might take a few coats of paint for full coverage. Using a light daffodil yellow, paint an oval on the black background. Let the yellow paint dry completely before continuing. Once the yellow is dry, it is time to add the bat symbol. You can paint it freehand or you may want to sketch it out with pencil first. Then fill it in with black or navy blue paint and let it dry completely again.
You can stop decorating your jar here or you can go one extra step and add a batman figure to the top. Heat up your glue gun for this part. Once you have hot glued the batman figure in the middle of the bat symbol, your jar is finished and ready to store your slime.
Next it’s time to make bat confetti with a bat shaped paper punch. Cut a piece of black plastic from a take out box or deli tray. Punch out a bunch of black bat confetti and put it aside to add to your slime later.
The final step is to make the slime! Start with a 5-ounce bottle of clear glue. Empty the entire bottle into a medium sized bowl. Add a quarter cup of water to the glue. Then add a few drops of lemon yellow food coloring and stir until evenly mixed. Another fun thing to add to your slime is glitter. I love to add glitter to everything I can. Stir a teaspoon of yellow glitter into the mixture. Pour in the bat confetti you made earlier and stir it all together with the yellow glitter and glue. The final ingredient is one third of a cup of liquid starch.. Stir it thoroughly until your mixture starts to cling together and has the slimy consistency you want.
Use the stir stick to transfer the batman slime into the jar and your project is complete.
