This London A to Z Book is a Sherlock Jewelry Box
Are you a Sherlock Fan who loves Sherlock Jewelry? This DIY will help crafty Sherlock fans make a London A to Z book that’s also a Sherlock Jewelry box. It’s a nod to the Series 1 episode “The Blind Banker” wherein Sherlock cracks the code using an A-Z London Street Atlas guide. This project makes a special gift for Sherlock superfans, who will get the reference and love this jewelry box.

DIY Sherlock Jewelry Box
MATERIALS YOU WILL NEED
paper mache book box
light brown or tan acrylic paint
white acrylic paint
paintbrushes
mod podge
light brown or sandstone felt
scissors
glue gun and glue sticks
STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS
Start with a papier mache book box and some white paint. You are going to paint the outside cover and spine of the book white Paint the thin edges on the back side of the cover. Also paint the inside front cover white. You may need to use two coats of paint for full coverage. Let the white paint dry completely before continuing.
When the white paint has dried it is time to paint the book pages with a light tan paint. Use a paint that matches the felt you have. Cover up any mistakes made with the white paint. Let the tan paint dry completely before continuing.
Download and print out the pattern. Trim out the book cover to fit the front of your box. Then apply a thin coat of mod podge to the front cover of the box. Position the cover printout on top smoothing it out from the center to the edges to eliminate any air bubbles under the paper and any wrinkles. Let the mod podge dry before continuing. You may want to use a heat gun or hair dryer to speed up the drying process. Brush a layer of Mod Podge on the top of the cover. Make sure not to brush the paper too much to avoid damaging the wet paper or smearing the ink. Let the cover dry completely before continuing.
Heat up your glue gun for the next part. It is time to add a felt cushion to the bottom of your jewelry box. Measure and cut a piece of felt that fits the bottom of the box. Then hot glue the felt down to complete the project.
