Power Up! Make a Mario Star Necklace

DIY Mario Star
MATERIALS YOU WILL NEED
yellow polymer clay
clay tools for cutting and shaping
an eye pin
chain necklace
wire tools
black and white paint
gloss glaze
STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS
Start with a small piece of yellow clay and flatten it to about ¼ inch thickness. Trace a star shape on the clay and cut it out. Use your fingers to shape and smooth the star until it looks even.
Add an eye pin through two star points, leaving one point standing up between them.
Bake according to the instructions on your clay package. Baking time and temperature will vary by clay brand and the size of your project.
Use wire tools to bend the second side of the eye pin into a loop. Cut off the excess wire.
Use black and white acrylic paint to add eyes to your star. Let the paint dry completely before continuing.
Give your charm at least two coats of gloss glaze. Let the gloss dry completely in between coats.
Once your star is glazed and dry, it’s time to add the necklace chain. Cut your necklace in half. Make sure both sides of the chain are equal lengths measured from the clasp before you cut! Then open both loops on the star charm and attach the chain to both sides.
