MATERIALS YOU WILL NEED

light brown, cream, light gray, light blue, white, black, pink and green paint
You can find or make all these colors from any acrylic paint set
paint brushes
river rocks from Amazon or the Dollar Store
gloss sealant like mod podge

STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS

Sort out three rocks from the package – Large, medium and small.

Paint the large rock tan, the medium rock light blue and the small rock white. Make sure to add the ears at the top. Use two coats of paint for complete coverage. And clean up any mistakes around your edges by scraping the paint away with a toothpick or Xacto Blade.

Let the paint dry completely before continuing. Paint a white belly on the blue Totoro and a cream belly on the tan Totoro. Once the paint is dry, continue adding the details on Totoro’s belly and use black paint to add eyes, nose and whiskers to the faces. Add the fine details to the eyes. An optional step is to add a little pink to the cheeks.  And finally add the green leaf on Totoro’s head.

Let the paint dry completely before continuing. Once the paint is dry it’s time to add a protective gloss coating with a gloss glaze or sealant like Mod Podge. Make sure to seal the back and the front completely. Once the Mod Podge is dry, your project is done!
