MATERIALS YOU WILL NEED

black, dark blue, and light flesh colored polymer clay
clay tools for cutting and shaping
eye pin, jump ring and lobster clasp
wire tools
black paint
gloss sealant

STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS

Find a reference for your Sherlock character online.

Roll out a small oval of light flesh colored clay for Sherlock’s head. Push the eye pin through the head and reshape it.

Use small snakes of black clay to create Sherlock’s hair. Refer to your reference photo to get the hairstyle.

Form a black cylinder of clay for Sherlock’s body. Make an indentation where the head will attach.

Make a thin snake of blue clay and roll it flat. Then trim the sides to create Sherlock’s scarf.

Flatten a small piece of black clay and cut a strip to create the turned up collar of Sherlock’s jacket.

To assemble your charm, slide the body onto the eye pin. Wrap the scarf around the neck of the figure. Then attach the collar on top of the scarf. Use your fingers or clay tools to smooth the figure.

Bake according to the instructions on your clay package. Baking time and temperature will vary by clay brand and the size of your project.

Once your charm is baked and cooled, add two black dots of acrylic paint for eyes.

Add a coat of gloss glaze to your charm.

Once the gloss has dried completely, add a jump ring and a lobster clasp.
