DIY Fallout Buffout Prop

MATERIALS YOU WILL NEED

a clean plastic or glass bottle from around the house
sandpaper or a rotary sander
download the label art from craftymcfangirl.com
scissors
brown acrylic paint
mod podge matte
paint brush
green candy

STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS

Get your candy ready. I sorted the green candies from three boxes of Spree and was able to fill my bottle about half way.

Before you begin, remove any stickers or labels. Then start the aging and weathering process. You can use sandpaper or a rotary sanding tool to add scratches and weathering to the cap and bottle.  Skip this step if your bottle is made of glass.

Next, using a dry paintbrush and a tiny bit of brown acrylic paint, add a layer of dirt and grime to the bottle and cap. Don’t put too much paint on your brush or it will ruin the look you’re going for.

Download, print out, and trim out the Buffout label from craftymcfangirl.com. Attach it to the bottle with a very thin layer of Mod Podge Matte. Don’t put too much Mod Podge on the bottle. A thin layer will do the trick.

Then take your dry brush and scrub a little bit of brown paint on the label. Focus on the edges of the paper and add the look of wasteland dirt and grime.

After the Mod Podge and paint completely dry, add a final layer of Mod Podge over the entire bottle and cap.

Once the bottle is completely dry, the final step is to add the candies we sorted out at the beginning.
