Create Decor Inspired By Disney: Princess Belle Rose

Become a Patron!
We all wish we had an enchanted candlestick, clock and tea set, but this Princess Belle Rose is the next best thing to decorate your room! Inspired by Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, this tutorial will show you how to make magical room decor. One of my favorite things about this craft is that the vase, wooden plaque and rose were only a dollar apiece.  This project is a cute way to show your love of Disney Princess Belle and a great dollar store hack in the bargain.

This project is part of my Disney Princess Project, so don’t forget to check out my other Disney princess-inspired craft tutorials, videos and posts.

MATERIALS YOU WILL NEED

glass vase
round wooden plaque
gold acrylic paint
artificial rose
six large plastic craft pearls
glue gun
glue sticks

STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS

Paint the wooden base with gold acrylic paint. Let it dry completely.

Gather and prepare materials: Clean the vase and remove any stickers. (WD-40 is great for removing stubborn sticker goo!) Make sure the opening of your vase fits on the wooden base and is not too big. Also make sure your rose fits inside the vase comfortably. You may need to trim off some extra stem leaves or petals to make it look right. Make sure the stem is short enough so that it doesn’t touch the wooden base when it is glued in. That is what gives the illusion that it is floating. Cut off three petals for the next step

Heat up your glue gun and stick three petals on the wooden base. Trim these petals very small so that they fit without looking crowded.

Glue the rose inside the vase. Decide which petal the rose will hang from. Put two daubs of glue on the tip of that petal and carefully lower it into the vase. Once the glue touches the glass it will immediately stick. If you need to reposition the rose, you will have to pull it out and start over.

Apply a line of glue around the wooden base, and carefully attach it to the vase.

Add  six pearls to the top of the glass vase. These pearls cover the glue that is holding the rose. This is what makes the rose look magically suspended in the air. Glue down a ring of 5 pearls all touching each other. Then finish the decoration with one pearl on top. Make sure to remove any stray glue strings, and your project is complete!
