MATERIALS YOU WILL NEED

craft paper boxes
wood decoration – circles and stars
black acrylic paint
red acrylic paint
cobalt blue acrylic paint
light blue acrylic paint
sterling silver acrylic paint
gold acrylic paint
fine tip black marker
mod podge
paint brushes
glue gun
glue sticks

STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS

Paint the inside of your box(es) with black acrylic paint.

The Captain America box:

Trace his shield onto the top of the box. It is three concentric circles, with a fourth circle and star in the middle. Refer to a picture online to help you get the proportions correct.

Paint the outside of the box with blue acrylic paint. It might take two coats to get a nice opaque coverage.

Paint the lid. Create a blue circle in the middle. Then paint the outer ring red. Extend the red paint down onto the sides of the lid as well. Add a silver or white ring between the red and blue

Once the paint is dry, glue the star decoration to the box.

Then go in with a fine tipped black marker and outline the star and the circles on the shield.

The final step is to add a coat of Mod Podge to the entire box, to seal and protect the paint and add shine.

The Iron Man box:

Paint the top of the lid and the outside of the box with red acrylic paint. Paint the wooden circle a light blue color. Use gold acrylic paint all around the sides of the lid. Let the paint dry completely before continuing.

The Arc Reactor. Find an image online to work from. You can use the newer triangle version, or you can go with the original gear shaped version. To create the original Arc Reactor, divide your circle into eight triangles using a ruler and pencil to trace the lines. Then find something round for the center. Draw a circle in the center of the design. Then use black paint to paint in the details using your reference image as a guide.

Once the paint is dry, hot glue the Arc Reactor to the box. And then give the entire box and lid a coat of Mod Podge to seal the paint and add shine.

Once the Mod Podge is dry, your Captain America and Iron Man boxes are done.
